Jill Costello has touched more lives, in life and death, than we can possibly know. Just one year ago, 21-years-young, Jill was diagnosed with Stage IV Lung Cancer. The meaning of courage and sheer determination has never been so profound.

In her final moments, Jill made sure her family and friends knew her wishes: Do everything you can to BEAT Lung Cancer.
While thousands will be able to attend services for Jill, thousands of family, friends and complete strangers cannot, so we are bringing Jill’s message to the masses by providing a live video stream of Tuesday’s Rosary and Wednesday’s Celebration of Life Mass for Jill.
We will be using a service called Ustream that enables us to provide a live video stream of all the memorial services, as well as upload the video to be viewed at your convenience. During the live stream, you also have the option to chat via Facebook, Twitter, AIM and MySpace.
I will be participating in the chat, providing play-by-play of what is taking place, answering any questions and sharing wonderful Jill stories and memories with you.
Here are details on how you can participate:
Procession and Rosary: Live video stream of the Procession and Rosary will begin at 6:45 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2010. Click on this link to join.
(Procession and Rosary begin at 7pm at St. Ignatius Church • 650 Parker Avenue • San Francisco.)
Celebration of Life Mass: Live video stream of the Celebration of Life Mass will begin at 1:15 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Click on this link to join.
(Celebration of Life Mass begins at 1:30pm at St. Ignatius Church)
Each video stream will begin 15 minutes before the live event.
Should you run into issues while viewing the stream, here are some possible reasons/solutions.
Using Chat and Social Stream
The chat room allows anyone with a Ustream account to participate. The Social Stream allows users to log into their Twitter accounts from the Ustream channel page. If users don’t have a Twitter account, they can view the social stream but won’t be able to send Tweets. Broadcasters and viewers alike can use the Social Stream, and the feature allows users to Tweet questions to the broadcaster and will automatically generate a link back to the Ustream show page. Broadcasters can display both chat and the social stream features or one but not the other. Broadcasters can change this setting under the “Advanced” tab within “Your Shows.”
To use the Ustream chat, you will need to sign up for a Ustream account here and log in. Note: You must be logged on in order to participate in the chat room. If you are not logged on, you will still be able to view the chat, but not be able to chat within the room.

Jill graduated with the highest honors from UC Berkeley in May. She led her team, as coxswain on Cal Women’s rowing crew to second place at the NCAA Women’s Division I Rowing Championships…and much, much more.
On behalf of all WTF-ers, everyone at BJALCF and all of you…let us celebrate Jill’s amazing life together.
