Hi all. Many have asked where the money for my campaign will be going. Obviously, a very good question. I apologize for not having had a clear answer until now. I made a promise to my mom that I would make it my mission to make a difference in lung cancer – the need for early detection, better screenings, more research, more money, more attention, etc…
I have decided that I am going to start a foundation in my mom’s name: The Leslie Lehrman Foundation. I was planning to give any funds raised to another organization, but I sat back and remembered my goal: to be the Susan G. Komen of lung cancer – but even better. It all starts with a promise and I made my mom a promise and it needs to be in her honor.
I have a bank account where funds will go until the foundation is up and running. I will post that information for you as soon as I can. I want the funds to go where they are most needed and most beneficial, so I am consulting professionals to help me determine the best vision and goals for the foundation. You can bet research will be a huge component, but I still need to get specifics determined. Again, I have asked where the funding is needed the most: That’s the one I want to tackle. If you know someone who you think would be great for me to chat with about the foundation, please let me know.
I work full-time so please bear with me as much as you can. I’m am sooooo excited about this campaign and all of you. It’s simply been an incredible three days, from zero to 700+ WTF members. You guys ROCK. Jen
