This weekend was a flurry – a fantastic flurry. I started the “WTF” (Where’s the Funding) for Lung Cancer Facebook group on Friday morning and as of this moment, the group already has 562 members! Wanna join? We are all ready to kick some major bootie!
On the media front, I have two media interviews here in Omaha lined up. I will let you know when they plan to air. I don’t want to jinx anything by naming the outlets. Having been a reporter, stories get dropped and picked up in a matter of seconds, so I will wait until things are a bit more confirmed. Haven’t attempted the big dogs yet, but will do my media pitching in the evenings, as I have a full-time job. I’m squeezing this in over lunch.
A bit of irony and “steel” for ya. My mom told me (yep, that’s her at her computer) she happened to wear her Steelers t-shirt the day I launched the Facebook group. She had no idea I was creating the group. Her Steelers shirt was the subject of my post on Saturday (about my mom’s diagnosis in January). “Yes, it’s Metastasized…What to Wear Tonight?” Long story short, she hadn’t worn that shirt since January and just happened to throw it on the day I launched my lung cancer campaign. I think this means I need to contact the Steelers to see what they can do for lung cancer. “Go long, Jennifer. Go long.”
